The 12th-seeded High Point Panthers' NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament appearance concluded on Saturday night with a loss to the fourth-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks in the second round at the Moda Center.
High Point had advanced to the Round of 32 with an upset victory over the fifth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers in the first round.
High Point led by as many as five points early and held a lead in the second half, but Arkansas responded with a decisive run in the final minutes to secure the win.
Arkansas, led by head coach John Calipari,[1] advances to the Sweet 16.
High Point, a member of the Big South Conference based in High Point, North Carolina, is coached by Flynn Clayman.[2] Notable players include guard Rob Martin and forward Cam'Ron Fletcher.[3]
Arkansas features freshman guard Darius Acuff Jr., a top recruit who signed with the program.[4]
The NCAA Tournament features 68 teams in a single-elimination bracket through six rounds, with the Round of 32 played across first- and second-round sites nationwide.[5]
